چکیده
We analyze the barren plateau phenomenon in variational optimization of quantum circuits inspired by matrix product states (qMPS), tree tensor networks (qTTN), and multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz (qMERA). consider as cost function expectation value a Hamiltonian that is sum local terms. For randomly chosen parameters we show variance gradient decreases exponentially with distance term from canonical centre network. Therefore, qubit count, for qMPS most variances decrease qTTN well qMERA they polynomially. also calculation these gradients more efficient on classical computer than computer.

Barren plateaus in quantum neural network training landscapes
Many experimental proposals for noisy intermediate scale quantum devices involve training a parameterized quantum circuit with a classical optimization loop. Such hybrid quantum-classical algorithms are popular for applications in quantum simulation, optimization, and machine learning. Due to its simplicity and hardware efficiency, random circuits are often proposed as initial guesses for explo...
متن کاملQuantum network optimization
In many candidate designs of solid-state quantum computers, interactions between qubits are limited to a small number of neighboring qubits. Taking into account this limitation we describe how quantum algorithms can be executed efficiently on these designs. We illustrate our results with the quantum Fourier transform for which linear depth networks are obtained. The concepts presented in this w...

For many decades, the Landau theory of symmetry breaking has dominated thinking about phase transitions. Recent interest in topological phases and quantum orders, which lie beyond the realm of symmetry breaking theory. Need a more robust framework. RG provides. I describe how numerical RG can be used to understand phases beyond sym. breaking. Implementation for quantum ordered phases requires i...
متن کاملQuantum anomalous Hall effect with higher plateaus.
The quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect in magnetic topological insulators is driven by the combination of spontaneous magnetic moments and spin-orbit coupling. Its recent experimental discovery raises the question if higher plateaus can also be realized. Here, we present a general theory for a QAH effect with higher Chern numbers and show by first-principles calculations that a thin film magne...
متن کاملMagnetization plateaus in frustrated antiferromagnetic quantum spin models
Plateaus can be observed in the zero-temperature magnetization curve of quantum spin systems at rational values of the magnetization. In one dimension, the appearance of a plateau is controlled by a quantization condition for the magnetization which involves the length of the local spin and the volume of a translational unit cell of the ground state. We discuss examples of geometrically frustra...
